Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 2026

Our commitment

MedicalCert.co.uk is committed to making our website and services accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We recognise that many of our users may be accessing the site during periods of illness, stress, or reduced capacity — and that accessible design is especially important in a healthcare context.

Standards we work toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

While MedicalCert is not a public sector body and is therefore not legally required to meet the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (PSBAR), we use those standards as our benchmark voluntarily because we believe accessible healthcare services are a matter of good practice, not just compliance.

What we currently do

  • All pages are served over HTTPS and are designed to work on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Our online consultation forms are designed to be completed using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
  • We use clear headings and a consistent page structure across the site to support screen reader navigation.
  • Text content is written in plain English at a reading level appropriate for a general adult audience.
  • We avoid relying solely on colour to convey information.
  • All certificates are delivered as PDF documents, which can be read using standard PDF readers with accessibility features.
  • Our contact page provides email and telephone contact options for users who cannot complete online forms.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to address them:

  • Some older blog content may not have fully structured heading hierarchies.
  • Some images on the site may lack descriptive alternative text.
  • Our mega-navigation menu may be difficult to navigate using a keyboard or screen reader on some devices. We are reviewing options to improve this.
  • PDF certificates are generated documents and may not be fully optimised for screen reader use. If you need your certificate in an alternative format, please contact us.

We conduct periodic reviews to identify and resolve accessibility issues as part of our ongoing site maintenance.

Feedback and contact

If you experience any difficulty accessing our website or services, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, please contact us:

We aim to respond to accessibility-related feedback within 5 working days. Where an issue prevents you from completing a consultation or accessing your certificate, we will work with you to find an alternative solution.

Enforcement and further information
