Youth Camp or Trip Medical Certificate

Most youth camps and school trips require a medical certificate confirming a child is fit to participate. Our registered UK GPs review your child's health details online and issue a signed certificate. No appointment required.

Each certificate follows a clinical review by a licensed UK doctor, giving camp organisers and trip coordinators a credible document confirming fitness and relevant health considerations.

✔ Issued by a registered UK GP following clinical assessment
✔ Suitable for youth camps, school trips, and organised activity programmes
✔ Most requests reviewed same day, from £39

They meet the incredibly fast turnaround stated (certificate/letter sent before 9am the following morning if the doctor feels that a letter/certificate is appropriate) which is incredibly quick and I am really grateful for the help provided!

Mark K. · 2 months ago

Very easy and quick to get my certificate. And the certificate was approved from the specific company to travel with my dog. I will use them again. Well done.

Emanouela M. · 2 months ago

Process was easy and responses were quick. I would recommend their service.

Cameron M. · 3 months ago

Fast efficient service for medical certificates. I used the not fit to fly service and was provided with a certificate the next day, the price is very reasonable and enabled a flight credit refund with my airline. Would recommend and would use again if needed.

Katharine H. · 7 months ago

A fast and efficient service. It wasn't complicated and the Fit-to-fly note was accepted by the Airport without any further questions. Thank you.

Mick W. · 6 months ago

Ideal for me, I am looking to get a certificate for some medical issues I have. So this is the perfect solution for me, uploading docs was easy and the forms very straightforward to fill in. Will definitely use them again. Many thanks.

Nicholas O. · 7 months ago

Excellent service. Easy to use and certificate issued in less than 24 hours. £39 as opposed to the £150 my GP charges. Highly recommended.

Joanna R. · 8 months ago

Quick and reasonably pain-free. Received their standard certificate as well as my requested bespoke certificate, by email, by 9am the following morning. Both completed properly, signed and stamped as required. More expensive than my GP, but infinitely quicker and easier.

Will R. · 7 months ago

One of the best experiences. It's easy to get a GP note.

Himanshu T. · 3 months ago

Excellent. My GP refuses to issue DWP MED 3 Fit Notes to students. MedicalCert were excellent and extremely helpful in providing a necessary certificate. Highly recommended.

Graham H. · 9 months ago

You were amazing, you kept me updated and replied promptly to any queries I had. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I was recommended Medical Cert by a friend and was so impressed with the service received. I would recommend using a laptop rather than a phone. Overall a fantastic and fast service.

Youth Camp and Trip Medical Certificate

A youth camp or trip medical certificate is a doctor-signed letter confirming that a child is in good general health and has no conditions that would prevent them from safely attending a camp, school trip, or organised travel programme. Camp organisers and trip leaders use it to ensure they have the clinical information needed to keep each child safe while away from home — and to meet the health and safety obligations of their programme.

A MedicalCert youth camp certificate is issued by a GMC-registered UK doctor, accepted by UK and international camp programmes, and includes completion of any camp-specific medical forms — including Camp America — at no additional charge.

When Is a Youth Camp Certificate Required?

UK residential youth camps

Many UK residential camps — sports academies, Duke of Edinburgh programmes, outdoor activity centres — request a medical certificate or health declaration from parents before accepting children.

Overseas school trips

School trips to Europe and beyond often require a health clearance form signed by a GP as part of parental consent and risk management documentation.

Camp America and US summer camps

American summer camps operated through programmes like Camp America require a specific multi-section medical form completed by a licensed doctor. This form is completed as part of the service.

Sports tours and competitions abroad

Youth sports tours — football academies, athletics camps, rugby exchange programmes — often require medical clearance confirming the child is physically fit to participate at the activity level involved.

Adventure and expedition programmes

Outward Bound, World Challenge, and similar high-activity expeditions carry significant physical demands and may require medical clearance, particularly for children with relevant medical history.

Religious and community group trips

Scout, Guide, faith group, and community organisation trips frequently require health documentation. A formal doctor’s letter carries more weight when a child has a relevant medical history.

Camp America Medical Form

Full form completion included as part of this service

Camp America requires participants to have a specific multi-section medical form completed by a licensed doctor. The form covers general health history, cardiovascular and respiratory status, chronic conditions, medications, allergies, and immunisation records, with a physician declaration.

This form is completed by the MedicalCert doctor remotely based on the medical history information and supporting evidence you upload with your submission. The completed, signed form is returned alongside the standard certificate.

What the Certificate Includes

Certificate contents

  • Child’s full name, date of birth, and relevant health background
  • Confirmation the child is in good general health and fit to attend
  • Disclosure of any conditions, allergies, or medications relevant to the programme
  • Recommendations for the organiser where relevant (e.g. inhaler access, allergy protocols)
  • GMC registration number of the signing doctor
  • Unique QR code for organiser verification
  • Camp-specific forms completed and returned, where provided

How to Get a Youth Camp Medical Certificate

1

Complete the consultation form

Provide the child’s date of birth, relevant medical history, any conditions, allergies, or regular medications, and the name and type of camp or trip. If the camp has provided a specific medical form, upload it with your submission.

2

GMC-registered doctor reviews the submission

If the child’s history includes relevant conditions, the doctor may request additional supporting information — such as a GP summary or clinic letter — before proceeding.

3

Certificate and forms delivered same day

The signed certificate — and any completed camp forms — arrive in your inbox same day (submit before 9pm) or by 9am next morning. Print and submit to the organiser before the camp’s deadline.

Most camps request the certificate weeks in advance. Order with sufficient lead time — same-day turnaround is available where the submission is complete and straightforward, but complex histories may require the doctor to request additional information.

Youth Camp Certificate FAQs

If the camp or trip organiser has explicitly requested a medical certificate, then yes — even for a healthy child. Many organisers require complete health documentation for all participants as standard, to hold records in case of emergency during the programme. If in doubt, check the camp’s specific requirements before ordering.
No, not in most cases. Well-controlled asthma managed with an inhaler does not prevent participation in most youth programmes. The certificate will note the condition and medication, and the doctor may recommend the organiser is made aware of the child’s inhaler protocol. Severely uncontrolled or hospitalisation-level asthma may require more detailed assessment before a certificate can be issued.
Yes. The service is suitable for young adults as well as children. Gap year placements, volunteer programmes, and overseas expeditions that require a health certificate follow the same process.
No. The medical certificate confirms health fitness for the programme. It is not a parental travel consent document. If your child is travelling internationally without both parents, a separate parental travel consent letter may be required by border authorities at certain destinations — these are separate documents serving different purposes.
Same-day turnaround is standard for complete submissions received before 9pm. If the camp has provided a specific form, or the child’s history is complex, the doctor may contact you for additional information which could add time. For urgent cases, ensure all documentation is uploaded when you submit.
