About MedicalCert UK

MedicalCert UK is a growing private online medical letters and certificate service rated 4.8★ on both Trustpilot and Google. We provide GMC-registered, doctor-issued clinical letters and certificates to patients across the UK, including sick notes, fit-to-work certificates, ESA support letters, student mitigating circumstances letters, travel cancellation certificates, housing support letters, sports medical certificates, and certificates of good health. All delivered digitally, same day, with no GP appointment needed.

Our clinical team of GMC-registered doctors reviews every consultation individually to the same professional standard as an in-person GP assessment. As demand for our service continues to grow, we are expanding our team of reviewing doctors.

We are currently hiring for the following positions.

Fully Remote Freelance / Contractor

Remote Case Review Doctor (General Practitioner)

We are seeking a qualified General Practitioner to join our remote clinical team conducting asynchronous case reviews. You will review patient-submitted consultations and approve or issue medical letters in line with our clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures. All reviews are completed asynchronously in your own time.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Reviewing patient e-consultation submissions and supporting evidence
  • Issuing or approving medical certificates and letters across a range of categories (sick notes, fit-to-work, ESA letters, sports medicals, and more)
  • Working within UK clinical guidelines and MedicalCert standard operating procedures
  • Collaborating with a fully remote team via Slack and our clinical dashboard

Requirements

  • Full UK GMC registration with a licence to practise (essential)
  • Qualified General Practitioner with relevant post-graduate training
  • Own medical indemnity/malpractice insurance for private work (essential)
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully digital, asynchronous environment
  • Strong written English and attention to detail in certificate and letter drafting

Desirable

  • Experience in remote, digital, or telehealth clinical practice
  • Familiarity with private medical letters or certificate services
  • Special interest in sports or dive medicine
Fully Remote Freelance / Contractor

Remote Case Review Doctor — Sports & Dive Medicine

We are seeking a doctor with at least 2 years of post-graduate experience and a specialism or special interest in sports or scuba diving medicine. You will conduct asynchronous case reviews across our full range of certificates, with a particular focus on sports medical certificates, scuba diving medicals, and fit-to-participate assessments.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Reviewing patient e-consultation submissions with a focus on sports and fitness-related cases
  • Issuing or approving sports medical participation letters and certificates for non-competitive, competitive, and recreational events
  • Assessing fitness-to-participate cases involving pre-existing conditions, medication use, and screening questionnaire responses
  • Reviewing general medical certificate submissions across the full product range (sick notes, fit-to-work, ESA letters, and more)
  • Working within UK clinical guidelines and collaborating with the clinical operations team via ClickUp and Slack

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience
  • Special interest in sports medicine, exercise medicine, or underwater/dive medicine
  • Medical indemnity/malpractice insurance in place for private work (essential)
  • Strong written English and attention to detail in certificate and letter drafting

Desirable

  • Diploma or postgraduate qualification in Sports and Exercise Medicine (e.g. DSEM, MSc SEM, MFSEM)
  • Experience assessing fitness-to-participate for sporting events or competitions
  • Experience with dive medicine or aviation medical assessments
  • Familiarity with task management tools (ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace)
